A form that only emails you is not a pipeline
If an enquiry lands in a shared inbox, it is already competing with everything else in that inbox. The brief gets lost, the follow-up is late, and you cannot tell which campaign created the conversation.
The minimum useful setup is: the website captures the brief, the CRM creates a lead, and someone owns the next step. Analytics can wait until that loop is reliable.
Decide the fields that sales actually uses
Name, email and a note are enough to start. Country, service, budget and timeline help routing. Anything you will not look at in the first reply is noise and lowers completion.
- A named lead source such as Website enquiry or Careers
- Honeypot or similar protection against obvious bots
- A confirmation the visitor can trust
- A rule for who picks up new leads and how fast
Keep marketing able to change the site
SEO titles, service copy, jobs and articles should not require a developer. When those live in the CRM, campaigns can ship without a code release — which is the point of connecting the two systems in the first place.
